Katsucon 2013 is a go!  
As usual, I'll be in attendance, and my costume schedule is nearly solidified.
BUT I've got time to make once more costume, and I can't decide which character I should cosplay!
So, because I can't make decisions to save my own life, I thought I'd ask you all.  Who do you think I should cosplay at Katsucon?  I'd prefer it to be a character from American comics or video games rather than anime.  
If you have a suggestion, please let me know!

I got accepted into a winter study abroad program at my school... so that means that I'm going to Kanazawa, Japan over winter break!  I'm sure it will be a lot of fun.    I was so worried about the financial burden initially, but I got a scholarship that will pay for everything but the plane ticket (which is reaaaally pricey).  I'm so excited!

So anyway, really, she needs more love.  She does a lot of our photos for free, including all the editing, which is amazing. I'm really thankful to have her...

So, just a quick update for anyone who cares:  I most certainly am NOT inactive.  I've made tons of new cosplays and fixed up loads of old ones.  I just haven't had enough time to run around doing shoots for all of them... and now that I've finished my summer semester at school (it was tough, but a lot of fun), I'm kind of detached from my friends.  I just really miss all my college buds, but I'm lucky to have some really nice friends who live close to me, including the lovely lady mentioned above!    Now, my dilemma is that since I haven't been able to do a lot of photoshoots lately, do you all want me to upload works in progress pictures of my cosplays?  They all look really nice, and I'm not just saying that.    I've improved a lot on my sewing and cosplaying in general.  I'm also trying to stick more to female characters, because of a certain part of my anatomy... lol.  I've employed my sister to make props for me, and she has made some really excellent stuff.  
Lastly, I'd like to say that I've been way happier than I have in a long time this past year.  I've met loads of really great people, and I'm just in a really nice place in my life.  I used to really hate myself because of all my failures, but I've recently learned that everyone fails and that's just part of what makes everyone human.  I still have lapses, but overall, I'm so much happier.  

I'd also like your opinions on who I should cosplay from Pandora Hearts... I've always planned on cosplaying PH since I started reading it FOREVER ago (literally it was years ago), but I could never decide... I adore Jack but everyone wants me to do Alice... and I already have almost all of Oz's costume (my lucky closet is pretty epic ;D).  So who should I be?  
I'm also thinking about FFXIII cosplay... my college friends are all pretty much on board with it but I'm still not sure... the only characters I really like from that game are Hope, Lightning, and Sazh.  Hope is by far my favorite but the only one I could pull off would be Lightning...   I hate giving in to peer pressure though uggghhhhhh.  What do you think?

So finally, I won't be attending Otakon, 'cus I have a much better trip planned instead.  >: )  Look forward to photos!

Not much to say, honestly.  I got tired of looking at my other journal entry for months upon months, so here's an update.  It's long overdue, I'm afraid.  
Well, I have just returned from Animazement 2011, and overall, it was a lovely convention.  I won first place for cosplay craftsmanship in the novice division with my Stocking costume, so that was pretty exciting.  It's almost time for me to move up to journeyman level, woohoo!!  Gotta step up my game when it gets to that point... no more half-assed hems.  There were lots of great cosplayers at AZ, and it was fun seeing college buddies again.  Summer semester starts on Tuesday, so it's back to college for me!  
My next convention is Otakon, because I'm skipping AMA this year (it's just been so awful the past few years, it's not worth the money at all).  I'm going to get quite a few cosplays done before then.  I've also finished a ton of costumes that I haven't done photoshoots for... I need to do some shoots and get those pictures uploaded!  

On a final note, thank God for libraries.  They have saved me from the intellectual vacuum in which I have been stagnating since the beginning of summer.  
Oh yes, and I have finally acquired Tournesol.  Heck yeah.
